Abigail works in the Designated Tortoise, a tavern in the valley near Barony Olau, with her brother, Thomas. It's a family business. She serves food and drink, greets everyone with a smile and is willing to give those who deserve it a kick in the pants.

She listens to the gossip of faraway places and things, but has been perfectly happy to stay where she is all of her life.

Then she went and fell in love with a stubborn, taciturn warrior named Raph. Turns out he's from another world.

What she doesn't yet know is that he used to be a turtle.
